Ovulation induction is the stimulation of ovulation by medication if a woman is not producing eggs.

The most common causes of failure to ovulate are stress, weight fluctuations and Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

Other causes may include disorders of the pituitary gland, thyroid gland, raised prolactin levels and ovarian failure.

It is treated through a variety of common fertility medications to encourage the monthly release of an egg in women who don’t ovulate regularly or don’t ovulate at all.
